The Moscow Theatre of documentary play was established in 2002 by several playwrights. For four years the theatre produced 32 performances, conducted numerous cultural actions, poetic and film parties. Most of TEATR.DOC performances are in the genre of documentary theatre. Documentary theatre, based on original texts, interviews and destinies of real people is a special genre, existing at the intersection of art and topical social analysis. Creative groups at the theatre make performances, using the evidence of real people, verbatim techniques, “deep improvisation”, theater games and trainings.
