RABOTA (Work)
Dance Agency TsEKh, Moscow
Concept , choreography and set design by Martin Forsberg
Music by Dmitry Shostakovich and Ryoji Ikeda
“Rabota” is a Russian performance of a Swedish choreographer Martin Forsberg.
Having selected four Russian professional dancers and four daring elderly women, not actresses, he suggested getting them involved in mutual existence on stage. This way through dancing and ordinary bodily movement, Forsberg investigates contrasts and oppositions of the human nature. Man and woman, youth and old age, true stories from life and theatrical convention, rest and movement. Whether housework or dance it is body work.
